I have been hearing and seeing a lot about ChatGPT, I honestly don't know anything about it or how it works, but I did my homework to find out more about "ChatGPT". The situation might be similar to mine for some people who don't know anything about it. In today's post, we will take a closer look at the ChatGPT and how it can help our daily activities.

What is ChatGPT?

ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered natural language processing technique that enables conversational interactions with chatbots that are strikingly similar to those with real people. The language model can provide guidance and solutions for a wide range of tasks, including but not limited to email, essay, and code writing.

ChatGPT is now in a period of study and feedback collecting, during which it is freely available to the public. As of February 1st, a premium membership service known as ChatGPT Plus is also available. OpenAI, an AI and research firm, developed ChatGPT. The firm released ChatGPT on November 30th, 2022.

Whisper, an automatic voice recognition system, and DALLEā€¢2, a popular AI art generator, are both products of OpenAI. It caused quite a stir in the media. "ChatGPT's quality is terrifying. Threateningly advanced AI is on the horizon, "declared Elon Musk, who helped develop OpenAI but has since left the company.

On Twitter, OpenAI's CEO Sam Altman reported that one million people signed up to utilize ChatGPT in its first five days. Although Altman assured Musk that the average cost of each answer was in the "single-digits cents," he acknowledged that the service would need to be monetized in the future because of its "eye-watering" compute expenses.

UBS, a Swiss bank, has determined that ChatGPT has the highest growth rate of any app ever. UBS study predicts that ChatGPT had 100 million active users in January, barely two months after its inception. TikTok, by contrast, reached 100 million users in under nine months.

How to start using ChatGPT

ChatGPT is available to anybody with an OpenAI account who goes to chat.openai.com. Once logged into ChatGPT, you may immediately begin speaking with other users. Begin a discussion with a question. ChatGPT is still in its developmental stage; therefore, it is free to use, and you can ask as many questions as you wish.

Since ChatGPT is still in its developmental stage, it is now available to the public at no cost. There has been a lot of buzz about its cutting-edge features, so many people are eager to try it out. There is a limit to the number of users the server can handle, and when that limit is reached, you may experience delays in getting your information from the website.

Please do not assume that you will never have access to it again. That only means you need to try again when fewer people attempt to access the site. The tab can be kept open and refreshed at regular intervals.

A choice is available if you'd rather not wait and yet need consistent access. As of February 1st, OpenAI has introduced ChatGPT Plus, a professional package that grants customers universal availability even at peak periods, improved response times, and early access to new features and enhancements. There is a monthly charge of $20 for access to the premium features.

How does ChatGPT work?

OpenAI uses Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF) to train its language model. Human AI trainers fed the model talks in which they enacted the roles of both the user and the AI assistant. ChatGPT is a conversational language model developed to interact with the user.

Search engines are programs that index the content of the internet to return results relevant to a user's query. It is not possible to conduct an internet search from within ChatGPT. Training data is used to inform its reaction, which might be inaccurate.

ChatGPT could be better; despite appearances to the contrary, it has its limits. The need to rephrase the input question to comprehend it is one constraint that prevents it from answering queries phrased in a particular way. Its replies, which may sound plausible but make little practical sense or be too lengthy, are a far more considerable drawback. The model doesn't bother to seek clarification on muddled inquiries, instead providing answers based on its best estimate.

Should we be happy or sad about ChatGPT?

In the future, intelligent chatbots like ChatGPT may help individuals with mundane chores like sending emails or searching the web for information. However, technical elements need to be worked out before they can be utilized broadly, notably to prevent unintended consequences like the proliferation of false information. Achieving optimal performance with AI and ML models requires extensive training and fine-tuning.

Is this evidence that AI is becoming dominant? Maybe not quite yet, but OpenAI's Sam Altman is inevitable that AI on par with humans is now within reach. In light of Musk's warning about super-intelligent machines, Altman tweeted: "I also think we are on the cusp of dangerously strong AI, which would pose a significant cybersecurity concern, for example. And I might have true AGI in the next decade, so we must take that risk very seriously."
