There are different ways to check MTN Data Balance, and that's what I am going to show you right now. So if that is the reason why you are here, then you are welcome. Seat tight and allow me to show you how you can check MTN Data Balance in a more convenient way.
As you already know, MTN and as well as other Mobile telecoms in Nigeria have now started using a unified USSD code as instructed by the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC). The new unified USSD code changed how we used to recharge our phones, check data balance, call customer care, and even recharge our phones.
Before now, there were many ways we used to check MTN Data balance, but presently many of them are no longer working following the introduction of the unified USSD code across all mobile telecommunication in Nigeria.
Back then, you could simply type 2 in your message box and send it to 131 to see the details of your data subscription, but it doesn't work anymore, but that doesn't mean that you can check the MTN Data plan anymore because there are new working methods you can use to check your balance.
Best ways to check MTN Data Balance
There are different methods to check MTN Data balance, and they are as follows:
- Check MTN Data balance using USSD
- Check MTN Data balance via SMS
- You can check MTN Data balance using MyMTN App
1. Check MTN Data balance with USSD short code
We have different USSD codes that we used to check data balance in the past, but many of them are no longer working anymore. The current USSD code that works is
*323*4#.
To do this, simply pick up your phone and dial
*323*4#, and you will see your data balance displayed on your screen along with the latest data offer from MTN. The good news is that you don't need a smartphone or internet connectivity to check your data balance using this USSD code.
2. How to check MTN Data balance via SMS
I believe that checking your data balance using the USSD is the most convenient way, but if you still want to check through SMS text message, it's as well simple.
To check your MTN data balance via SMS, simply open your phone message box, type
2 and send it to
312. You will receive a response containing your data balance. Within 2 seconds.
3. How to check MTN Data balance using MyMTN App
The most convenient method remains the number one because you must a smartphone for you to be able to download and install the MTN mobile app known as "
MyMTN App" The good news is that you can do a lot more with the MTN mobile app, and not just about Checking your data plan.
You can check your Airtime, and data balance, buy data and airtime, share your data with family and friends, and see the details of your tariff plan and other subscriptions. To do this, all you need to do is to download the MTN mobile app and then log in with your phone number, Facebook account, or email. However, using your phone number to log in will be better.
During the login process, a one-time token password will be sent to your number, which your phone can pick up and verify your account automatically, but if it doesn't do that, you can input it manually.
Once you are in, you will be able to see everything you have in your account and as well see special offers personalized for you.
