« Last post by E-Collins on September 28, 2024, 10:27:07 AM »
MTN is one of the largest telecom providers in Nigeria, offering a wide range of services, including prepaid airtime. Whether you're topping up to make calls, browse the internet, or send SMS, knowing how to load your MTN card is essential. In this guide, we'll walk you through various methods to recharge your MTN line, making it convenient for every user, whether you prefer using USSD, mobile apps, online platforms, or ATM services.

How to Load MTN Card Using USSD Code

The easiest and most popular way to load your MTN card is by using the USSD code method. This method is fast, works without an internet connection, and can be done on any mobile phone.

Step-by-Step Process:
• Purchase your MTN recharge card from any vendor or use a recharge PIN obtained from online banking or other platforms.
Dial the MTN recharge code: On your phone, type *311*Recharge PIN# and press the call button.

Example: If your recharge PIN is 1234 5678 9012, dial *311*123456789012#.
Your airtime will be credited instantly, and you should receive a confirmation SMS with your new balance.

To check your account balance after recharge simply dial: *310#
Advantages of Using USSD:

Simplicity: This method doesn’t require any complex setup or internet access.
Speed: It’s immediate, with airtime credited within seconds.
Availability: Works 24/7, making it an excellent option in areas with poor internet access.

How to Load MTN Airtime via MyMTN App

The MyMTN app is a convenient solution for managing your MTN services. It allows you to load airtime, check your data usage, buy data bundles, and more. It’s especially useful for smartphone users who prefer managing everything digitally.

Step-by-Step Process:

• Download the MyMTN App from Google Play Store (for Android) or the Apple App Store (for iOS).
• Log in using your MTN phone number. A one-time password (OTP) will be sent to your number for verification.
• Once logged in, navigate to the ‘Recharge’ option.
• Enter your recharge PIN or pay directly through your bank details linked to the app.
• Tap ‘Recharge Now’, and your airtime will be loaded instantly.

Benefits of Using the MyMTN App:

Track Usage: The app allows you to view your transaction history, including airtime top-ups.
Access to Bonuses: Sometimes, the app offers special bonuses or discounts not available elsewhere.
All-in-One Platform: Besides recharging airtime, you can manage your MTN account, data plans, and more in one place.

How to Load MTN Airtime via Bank USSD Codes

Many Nigerian banks have made it possible to load MTN airtime directly from your bank account using their USSD codes. This method is secure and ideal for users who already have mobile banking set up.

List of Popular Nigerian Bank USSD Recharge Codes:

  • GTBank: Dial *737*Amount# (e.g., *737*100# for N100 airtime).
  • First Bank: Dial *894*Amount#.
  • Access Bank: Dial *901*Amount#.
  • UBA: Dial *919*Amount#.

Step-by-Step Process:

• Dial your bank’s USSD recharge code (for example, *737*Amount#).
• Enter your MTN phone number when prompted.
• Confirm the transaction by entering your banking PIN or a one-time password (OTP) sent by your bank.
• Your airtime will be credited, and you will receive a notification from both MTN and your bank.

Benefits:
Secure: The transaction is processed directly through your bank account, providing a secure and convenient way to recharge.
No Need for Recharge PIN: You don't need to purchase a physical recharge card or PIN.

How to Load MTN Airtime from Online Platforms

Recharging airtime from online platforms is another convenient method, especially for users who have access to the internet and prefer digital transactions.

Popular Online Platforms:

How to Load Airtime from ATMs

You can also recharge your MTN line at an ATM while withdrawing cash or performing other banking activities.

• Insert your ATM card into the machine and enter your PIN.
• Select the ‘Airtime Recharge’ option from the menu.
• Choose MTN as your mobile network.
• Enter your MTN phone number and the amount of airtime you wish to load.
• Confirm the transaction, and your airtime will be credited instantly.

Benefits:

Accessibility: Almost all ATMs in Nigeria offer this service.
Combining Transactions: Recharge airtime while making other ATM transactions.

Common Issues When Loading MTN Card and How to Solve Them

Sometimes, users encounter problems when trying to recharge their airtime. Here’s how to solve common issues:

Invalid PIN Error:

What it means: The recharge PIN you entered is incorrect or has already been used.
How to fix: Double-check the PIN for errors, or contact MTN customer support if the PIN is correct but still not working.

Network-Related Issues:

What it means: Poor network reception might cause delays in processing your airtime.
How to fix: Wait a few minutes and try again. You can also move to an area with better network coverage or try a different recharge method (e.g., using the MyMTN app).

Other Technical Problems:

If you’re having other issues, like incorrect balance after recharge, contact MTN’s customer care by dialing 180 from your MTN line or reaching out via social media.

MTN Recharge Promotions and Bonuses

MTN often offers promotions and bonuses to users who recharge airtime. Some bonuses are applied automatically, while others may require special codes.

Bonus on Every Recharge: MTN often gives extra airtime when you load certain amounts, especially for larger denominations like N500 or more.
Double Data Promotions: Recharging through certain platforms (like the MyMTN app) can sometimes reward you with double data.

Note: If you want special bonus use this USSD code to recharge: [color-red]*888*PIN#[/color]

How to Share MTN Airtime (MTN Share and Sell)

MTN Share and Sell allows you to share airtime with family and friends easily.

Step-by-Step Guide:

• Dial *600*Recipient's Number*Amount*PIN#.
• Example: *600*08031234567*500*1234# to send N500.
• Both you and the recipient will receive a confirmation SMS once the transaction is successful.

Safety Tips:

• Always keep your PIN private to avoid unauthorized airtime transfers.
• Regularly change your Share and Sell PIN for added security.

Itel A80 Price in Nigeria

Itel A80 is the newest itel phone going between N100,000 - N130,000. It's Available on Jumia and Konga.

Note: There are 2 versions of itel A80, the one with 3GB RAM
comes with 13MP dual camera while the 4GB RAM version comes with 50 MP dual rear camera. Both variants support extended RAM up to 8GB.

Itel A80 VS Itel A70

Before itel A80 there was itel A70 and it's time to compare the new itel A80 with its predecessor. This will help us know if the release of the A80 is an improvement or not.

The Itel A80 is slightly bigger with a 6.7 inch punch-hole display compared to the 6.6 inch water-drop display. The design is relatively the same, there are dual cameras aligned vertically on the A80 together with a rounded LED flashlight that looks like a small ring light.

Looking at the colors, itel A80 comes with 3 colors (standalone black, glacier white and wave Blue) while A70 comes in 4 colors, (brilliant gold, starfish black, field green and azure blue). The A80 has a screen resolution of 720 x 1600 while A70 has 720 x 1612.

When it comes to performance, itel A80 is powered with Android 14 OS together with T603 Octa-core LTE Chipset while the A70 comes with Android 13 OS and T603 Octa-core processor. The 4GB RAM version of the A80 camera is better with 50 MP dual rear camera and 8MP front camera compared to 13MP dual rear camera and 8MP front camera that the A70 offers.

Both phones' batteries have the same 5000 mAh battery capacity. They also support 4G LTE network with side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Memory size is a downgrade

If you care much about memory then you either go for itel A70 or stich to it if you already have one because it offers better Ram and storage between 12GB extended memory and 256GB storage memory while the new A80 offers a maximum of 8GB extended RAM and 128GB storage memory.

Itel A80 Review

Let go deeper to find out more about the itel A80 features and functionalities.

Design and Build Quality

The Itel A80 comes with a sleek design that feels solid in hand, despite its budget-friendly pricing. The device has a plastic back with a matte finish, which helps reduce fingerprint smudges. Its rounded edges and lightweight build make it comfortable to hold, even for extended periods. Itel offers the A80 in multiple color options, including a Sandstone Black, Glacier White, and Wave Blue, adding a bit of personality to the phone.

The back panel houses the camera module and the LED flash, a welcome feature at this price point. The front of the phone is dominated by a 6.7-inch punch-hole display, which is surrounded by minimal bezels.

Display

Itel A80 is equipped with a 6.7-inch IPS LCD with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels with 120Hz screen reflash rate. While this may not compare with the higher-end smartphones in terms of sharpness and clarity, it does a good job for basic usage like browsing the web, watching videos, and using social media. The color reproduction is average, and brightness levels are sufficient for indoor usage.

Performance

The Itel A80 is powered by T603 Octa-core LTE Chipset processor clocked at 1.5 GHz and paired with 3/4GB of RAM that can be extended to 8GB RAM with the help of memory fusion technology. This hardware is suitable for average tasks such as making calls, texting, social media, gaming, and basic apps usage. However, multitasking and running resource-intensive applications may cause noticeable slowdowns or stuttering.

For storage, the device comes with 128GB of internal memory, which can be expanded via a microSD card. The inclusion of expandable storage is a plus since the base storage may quickly fill up, especially if you download many apps or take photos regularly. In terms of software, the A80 runs on Android 14, which is optimized to perform better and ensures a smoother experience.

Camera

Itel A80 sports a dual-camera setup on the back with an 50/13MP main sensor and a secondary VGA depth sensor for portrait shots. While this setup sounds promising, the actual image quality is average at best. In well-lit environments, the camera captures decent photos with fair detail and color accuracy. However, in low-light conditions, the camera struggles with noise and a lack of detail.

The front-facing 8MP selfie camera is suitable for casual selfies and video calls. Again, it works well in good lighting, but don't expect high-quality images in dim environments.

Battery Life

One of the strengths of the Itel A80 is its battery life. The device is powered by a 5000mAh battery, which, combined with the power-efficient Android 14 software and the modest specs, can easily last a full day of use on a single charge. Whether you’re browsing, texting, or watching videos, the phone holds up well throughout the day, making it a great choice for users who prioritize long battery life.

Unfortunately, the phone offers lower 10W fast-charging capabilities, so recharging the large battery can take some time.

Other Features

Fingerprint Sensor: The side-mounted fingerprint sensor works reliably and adds an extra layer of security
Face Unlock: Itel also includes face unlock, though it is slower compared to fingerprint unlocking.
Connectivity: The Itel A80 supports 4G LTE networks, which is a great but not better when compared to more modern 5G smartphones.

Pros and Cons

Pros:
  • Affordable price
  • Long-lasting 5000mAh battery
  • Clean design with a comfortable grip
  • Android 14 optimized to perform better
  • Side-mounted fingerprint sensor

Cons:
  • Average camera quality, especially in low light
  • Slow charging

For example, you can charge a 5000mAh phone approximately 12 times with a single full charge of the PowerBox 600. This makes it ideal for users who rely heavily on their devices throughout the day without access to traditional power outlets.

In terms of charging speed, the 22.5W fast charging feature is a significant advantage. It supports both Power Delivery (PD) and Quick Charge (QC), making it compatible with a wide range of devices, from smartphones and tablets to laptops. You can fully charge most modern phones in about 1 to 1.5 hours, which is impressive for a power bank of this size.

The PowerBox 600 comes equipped with 5 output ports, allowing you to charge multiple devices simultaneously. This feature is perfect for users with several gadgets or for those who want to share power with others. The Type-C port ensures that you can quickly charge both older and newer devices without needing separate adapters.

Battery Safety & Protection

Oraimo ensures safety is a priority with the PowerBox 600. It includes multiple protection layers such as over-voltage, over-current, short-circuit protection, and temperature control. These features ensure that both the power bank and your devices remain safe during charging. Given the high capacity and long charging periods involved, this level of protection is crucial.

Charging Time for the Power Bank

Given its enormous capacity, recharging the PowerBox 600 from 0% to 100% takes a considerable amount of time. Using a standard charger, it may take around 8-10 hours to fully recharge the power bank, depending on the power output of your charger. This is expected, considering the size of the battery, but using a fast charger or leaving it to charge overnight makes this manageable.
