Online transactions have become more desiring and convenient to many Nigerians that we now pay for product and service inside and outside Nigeria using recommended Naira Debit cards such as MasterCards, Visa Cards etc.

I personally buy most of the things I use online and I have also experienced an error such as
Quote
" Dear Valued Customer "

Declined Card Transaction : DCC Restriction .

Thank you for using your GTBank Naira MasterCard. Please be informed that your transaction with the details below could not be completed because you have selected the DCC payment option (Dynamic Currency Conversion) that allows you to pay in Naira, which has been temporarily restricted on all our cards. Please reattempt the transaction and select the currency of the country you are transacting in.

Card Number : 24******7 Account

Number : ******9956 Merchant

Name : GOOGLE *SERVICES g.co/payhelp#CAUS

Amount : USD1.65 (NGN 328.35 )

Imagine such error preventing you from paying for something you really need.

The reasons for Declined Card Transaction - DCC Restriction

The main reason why banks block some transaction in some website such as PayPal and google play is because of Naira and Dollar Currency Conversion differences.

A website such as Google and PayPal uses the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Official exchange rate when handling transactions on their website.

Example, CBN official rate for $1 is N315.25 but bank like GTBank Charges N382 per $1 as at today almost the same with black market.

Since bank makes more profit charging higher than the official rate they blocked any website that doesn't allow them to convert currencies at their own desired rate and this is the main reason why you are getting error (Declined Card Transaction - DCC Restriction) on some websites.

Good afternoon, please I am having challenges with the DCC issues too in paying for Instagram promotions. It's my first time and after opening a PayPal account, I could not link my GT naira MasterCard. If I follow the steps above, would I be able to link my card.
Do you know any Nigerian bank that I can easily link their naira ATM card with PayPal if my GT one still doesn't work.
